Alearcryst Week Rules and Guidelines
1. Alear and Alcryst must be the featured characters in submissions, and interactions may be platonic or romantic in nature. Content for both genders of Alear is welcome!2. Submissions can be made through mentioning @alearcrystweek (Twitter), @alearcrystweek2023 (Tumblr), or by using #alearcrystweek. If your content was posted on an outside website, leave a link and/or a preview image!3. You must tag any content warnings if they apply to your work. Please refer to Archive of Our Own's list of archive warnings for a baseline.4. NSFW submissions will be allowed. Those who wish to submit NSFW content must be at least 18 years old and should include an indication of being 18 or older in their account bio when submitting. Submissions must be tagged with #alearcrystweeknsfw instead of #alearcrystweek. The mention of @alearcrystweek (Twitter) or @alearcrystweek2023 (Tumblr) remains optional. NSFW drawings or other visual-based media must be marked as “sensitive”, or, if linked to an outside website, include a SFW preview image before they will be reposted. NSFW writing submissions must be tagged appropriately and/or as “explicit” before being added to the Archive of Our Own collection.5. Treat everyone with respect. and of course, have go have some fun making content for your favorite blorbos!
FAQ/Submission Clarifications:
Q: Is there a specific reason behind why Dec. 17th-23rd was chosen as a date range?
A: The week chosen here aligns both with the winter solstice (the shortest day in the northern hemisphere, and thus, the longest night), and with the general season of giving gifts in many cultures! It aligns with the pair's stars/moon motif, and I hope that it can also give time for prospective creators to prepare (it's a busy time of year, that's for sure)
Q: Will prompts be open for both genders of Alear, or will there be specific prompts for each?
A: Prompts will be non-specifc, and content creaters are welcome choose any gender for Alear!
Q: Where should I post/publish my work? What if I'm unable to post on Twitter/X or Tumblr?
A: Currently, the Alearcryst Week event has pages on Twitter/X and Tumblr and works can be submitted to the event by using the tagging in rule #2. Content posted to outside websites (including fics posted to AO3) should be linked in a post on one of these two websites. However, if you're unable to post your work to Twitter/Tumblr, feel free to reach out, and we can go from there! I'm also open to creating another Alearcryst Week page elsewhere if the need arises!
Q: What will happen after I post/publish my work?
A: Once you've submitted your work, I'll repost it to the Twitter/Tumblr page! If you published a fic on AO3 and haven't already elected to add your work to the collection, you will also be invited to have your work put in the collection shortly after!
Q: My work was posted a while ago and wasn't reposted. Should I reach out?
A: If your work hasn't been reposted and it's been more than 24 hours since posting, reach out to me and I'll get with you as soon as possible!
Q: I wasn't able to finish my work in time for the prompt day/the week. Will I still be able to post it to the event?
A: Hey, life happens, so absolutely! I'll still be scanning through the #alearcrystweek tag for the week after the event for late submissions!
